“Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened” - Dr.  Theodore Seuss.

What a wonderful experience this has been! Writing for The Clarksdale Blues-Star has been a job that made me smile. I got to meet the people of the community, learn about interesting events and spend time with folks that live in Clarksdale and the surrounding areas.

I also got the opportunity to research the subject for these articles and I learned so much about the organizations, the events, the missions and the people of the Delta.

I guess I was meant to be a reporter because my mind was always buzzing about the next article or interview. As a matter of fact, just because we no longer have the Blues-Star paper, doesn’t mean I will quit reporting. I have a blog – with pictures and stories and I promise that I will continue to write and report. I have several big interviews that I have been working on that will be appearing on my blog soon.

I want to thank everyone who commented on my articles and ask forgiveness for those grammatical errors or misspelled names.

I hope that my fresh eyes and ears in the community came across with fresh thoughts and words.

Thanks again for your support and the opportunity to learn and be with the best people in the Delta.

“Some people come into our lives and quickly go.  Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.” - Flavia Weedn
