Letter To The Editor

Dear Editor,

Each week at the Care Station, two paid cooks and a host of volunteers serve meals to over 1,000 hungry people.   We have the wonderful, on-going support of many churches and local businesses, without which we couldn’t keep doing what we do.  These sustaining gifts keep us going through the lean times.  This holiday season, however, was a rich time for us.

On behalf of the Board of the Care Station, the cooks and the hungry we feed, I want to thank everyone who responded to our plea for donations during the last two months. In these uncertain economic times, we were unsure as to whether our plea would be heard, but it was.  Clarksdale is surely the most generous of towns, and we are grateful beyond measure.  Because of the generosity of the community, we will be able to continue our mission of feeding the hungry of Clarksdale.

    Sincerely,
    Charlie Estess, President
